Notice of proposed Miller Annexation

A petition for annexation has been filed in the office of the Monroe City Recorder for the purpose of requesting annexation of a parcel of land belonging to Joshua Lee and Kristine Lee Miller for .50 acres, more or less, of property located at approximately 507 North 100 East, more specifically described as follows:

SURVEYED DESCRIPTION - a portion of PARCEL 5-26-14

BEGINNING AT AN EXISTING FENCE CORNER THAT IS N84 °04 ‘54° E 1844.09 FEET FROM THE WEST 1/4 CORNER OF SECTION 10, T25S, R3W, SLB&M; THENCE NO °05' 31W ALONG AN EXISTING FENCE 111.70 FEET; THENCE N89°48' 45°W 195.00 FEET; THENCE SO °05' 31°E 111.70 FEET TO AN EXISTING FENCE LINE; THENCE 589° 48' 45°E 195.00 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING CONTAINING 0.50 ACRES

Notice of certification was received by the Monroe City Council on January 28, 2014. The complete annexation petition is available for inspection and copying at the office of the Monroe City Recorder, 10 North Main, Monroe, UT 84754, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Monroe City may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition unless a written protest to the annexation is filed with the Boundary Commission at 250 North Main, Richfield, Utah 84701, and a copy of the protest delivered to the Monroe City Recorder by February 28, 2014. A protest to the annexation petition may be filed by the legislative body or the governing board of an affected entity (or for a proposed annexation of an area within a county of the first class, if it contains the signatures of the owners of real property that:(1) is located in the unincorporated area within ½ mile of the area proposed for annexation; (2) covers at least 25% of the private land area located in the unincorporated area within ½ mile of the area proposed for annexation; and (3) is equal in value to at least 15% of all real property located in the unincorporated area within ½ mile of the area proposed for annexation. The protest period will be 30 days from the date of certification and will end February 28, 2014.
